𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗰𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 - 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲

"I'm small, sweet & charming but I'm also head strong, independent and know what I want!

I started at DCL 10 months ago and hands down it's been the best career move I've made!

Apart from being bossy, loud & annoying in the hub, my job involves invoicing contract & WTY claims, creating new sales jobs for the PDI workshop supervisor & invoicing these jobs once completed. I love invoicing! Yes I know, I'm a weird one!

It's a running joke in the office that I have jobs invoiced before they're even complete! Lol"

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆?

"It's such a male dominated environment, take no sh*t! Stand your ground even if your voice shakes! Most importantly, believe in yourself"

𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆...

"And just like the moon, you shall go through phases of light, dark and of everything in between. And though you may not always appear with the same brightness, you are always, always whole."

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿?

"When I first started at DCL, I felt so overwhelmed starting a new job as one does, a few weeks in and I literally broke down in tears as I thought I couldn't do this but here I am 10 months on smashing all my goals at work and getting praise not just from management but the directors too! It's so nice that high level management give praise and recognition to staff, so yeah I'm so proud of how far I've progressed! And this is just the start!!"

𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂?

"As cliché as it sounds my mum is my biggest inspiration! Growing up it was just her and I and she done everything herself! No hands out from anyone, just hard solid graft! No matter what life throws at her she just takes it in her stride and deals with it! I've never met a stronger woman. If I can be half the woman she is, I'll be very happy!"

𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗟𝘆𝗹𝗲 - 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿

"I joined #TeamDennisons just over 18 months ago and my role within the business is Group Marketing Manager.

When studying journalism at uni, I never thought in a million years I’d one day be working with big lorries and machines but after 8 years working in the automotive/transport industry, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!

The marketing department here at Dennisons is made up of myself and Gail and together we look after branding, events, social media, websites, press and PR for our 8 group brands including Dennison Commercials, Dennison JCB & Denn-Part.

We’re a super busy department but I absolutely love the variety in my day-to-day work life…. one minute we could be kitted out in our hi-viz vests on site in a field with a customer, later creating content and organising events like Balmoral Show… and then next thing you know you’re out at a farm taking photos of a machine and an alpaca (don’t ask!) Who said marketing wasn’t glamourous?"

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆?

"Learn as much about the industry as you can and never be afraid to ask questions!"

𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿?

"My mum has always been my number 1 cheerleader. She’s always been there to listen, encourage and offer her ‘spot on’ advice. She’s also one of those people who is usually right about everything…which means I do have to hear a lot of ‘I told you so’s’!"

𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆...

“Everything will be ok in the end, if it’s not ok, then it’s not the end.”

𝗔𝗯𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿 - 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿

"I work part-time here at Dennisons in the service department, carrying out administrative and customer-service based duties.

I am also studying Business in my final year at Ulster University.

The workplace environment within Dennisons is very much team-focused and gives me the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and competitive business environment.

Since I started working here I have felt valued, included and part of the team."

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆?

"I feel that confidence working within the transport industry is key.

Also, the transport industry requires you to be resilient and at times requires thick skin.

However, it is an excellent industry to collaborate with colleagues and other businesses and learn/develop key communication skills."

𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂?

"My inspiration is definitely my mum, who is hard working, determined and driven.

My mum always encourages me to view the glass as half full, to be patient and not to worry too much because everything will work out."

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻'𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 - 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆?

"Kim Kardashian, to experience a typical day in her luxury life.

Also because she is a powerful businesswoman and entrepreneur running her own beauty, fragrance and clothing businesses."

𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆...

"Do what you can to heal and grow because you have so much undiscovered potential and the world needs you."

𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁 - 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 & 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿

"I have been with Dennisons from 2014, starting at 24 as sales support carrying out vehicle invoicing and climbing in and out of lorries taking pictures for our newly established website at the time.

Over the past 8 years I have gained experience in vehicle and contract hire sales, vehicle purchasing, business planning and in 2020 I became Used Truck Sales and Rentals Manager.

I work with a fantastic team and our department maintains a fleet of over 200 rental vehicles and preps over 200 vehicles a year for resale back into the market."

"Now is a fantastic time to start a career in the industry and as more women take on positions we all benefit from the skills and perspective they bring to the various roles available.

In male dominated industries it can sometimes feel like you have twice as much to prove, but be kind to yourself and trust in your own abilities.

Dennisons are a brilliant advocate for providing opportunity based on each individual’s drive and aptitude, and it is a joy to see such an increase in females across the business even over the last few years."

𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆...

"'We rise by lifting others’- Robert Ingersoll. The last two years have been challenging- if we all made an effort to make a positive impact on each other the world would be a much better place. "

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿?

"In sales we all have different deals which stick out as memorable, particularly in used sales and rentals where we can take vehicles returning from contract hire and customise a completely new look with lightbars, paint jobs, liveries etc based on the new customer’s preference.

For me I am proudest when the team receives good feedback and recognition for all the hard work they do, pulling together to put vehicles out to customers, particularly for owner drivers and smaller operations who are entrusting us with an important part of their business."

𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂?

"I am fortunate to be surrounded by strong women in my life, in and out of work, who take no guff, act as a great sounding board and celebrate in each other’s successes."

Dennisons is very much about the people: those that we work with and those that we get to meet along the way.

Self-confessed addict of shoes & beauty products and I love the colour red, a good cup of coffee and petrol power."

My role involves much more including; graphic design, managing multiple social media accounts, photos, videos, analytics, PR, campaigns to promote sale opportunities, website management, email campaigns, event management, creating promotional material, for all 8 brands of the Dennison Group.
