Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

1. Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that the Dennison Group has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or our supply chains.

Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. The Dennison Group has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings, and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery within our business or supply chains.


2. Our Business

The Dennison Group of companies operates primarily within the transport and construction industries in Northern Ireland.

The Dennison Group comprises the following entities:

  • Dennison Commercials Limited

  • Dennison Rentals

  • Dennison Bodyshop

  • Dennison Industrial Estates

  • Dennison JCB

We are Northern Ireland’s authorised Volvo Truck & Bus dealer, operating dealer points across the province and providing comprehensive nationwide support. Our business also includes:

  • Commercial vehicle rentals

  • A specialist bodyshop

  • A bus PDI centre

  • Commercial units for hire through Dennison Industrial Estates

  • Supply of truck and trailer parts for all makes

In addition, we are the authorised JCB dealer for construction, industrial and access equipment, and generators across Northern Ireland and County Donegal, providing full sales, service, and parts support.


3. Our Supply Chains

The Dennison Group sources a wide range of vehicles, machinery, parts, and materials from both UK-based and overseas suppliers.

  • Volvo Trucks and genuine Volvo parts are sourced directly from the Volvo market company in Warwick, England.

  • Non-genuine parts are sourced from suppliers based in the UK and overseas.

  • JCB machinery and genuine JCB parts are procured directly from the JCB market company in Rocester, England.

We recognise that supply chains can present a higher risk of modern slavery, particularly where goods are sourced internationally, and we remain vigilant in assessing and managing these risks.


4. Our Policies

The Dennison Group operates a number of internal policies designed to ensure ethical and transparent business practices, including:

4.1 Recruitment Policy

We operate a robust recruitment process, including verification of the legal right to work in the UK for all employees, to reduce the risk of human trafficking or forced labour.

4.2 Whistleblowing Policy

Our whistleblowing policy enables employees to raise concerns about working practices, treatment of individuals, or potential breaches within our business or supply chain, without fear of retaliation.

4.3 Business Conduct, Ethics & Anti-Bribery Policy

This policy sets out the standards of behaviour and ethical principles expected in all business activities.

4.4 Employee Code of Conduct

The Employee Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all employees and how we operate as an organisation.

4.5 Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

This policy reflects our commitment to acting responsibly as a business, supporting our employees, and contributing positively to the communities in which we operate.


5. Our Suppliers

The Dennison Group expects its suppliers to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.

We are in the process of developing and implementing a formal due diligence programme for key suppliers, focused on understanding the steps they have taken to identify and mitigate modern slavery risks within their own operations and supply chains.

In recent financial years, senior management have undertaken visits to potential overseas suppliers located in regions assessed as having a higher risk of modern slavery or human trafficking. These visits included assessments of working conditions and employment practices prior to approval of such suppliers.


6. Training and Awareness

The Dennison Group is committed to training and educating relevant employees to:

  • Recognise the indicators of modern slavery and human trafficking

  • Understand reporting procedures

  • Know how to escalate concerns appropriately

Training is updated periodically to ensure continued awareness across the business.


7. Review and Approval

This statement is reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect the Dennison Group’s ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking.

This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors.
