Our Story
1969
The Beginning
Dennison Commercials was founded in 1970 by the Dennison family, built on a simple but enduring principle: provide dependable, reliable vehicles, expert knowledge, and service customers can rely on.
The company was located at the old Paper Mill in Ballyclare and became Northern Ireland’s exclusive Volvo Truck & Bus dealer, establishing itself as a key player in the region’s transport infrastructure.
1976
Expanding to Newry
Our Newry Depot was established in 1976 by founding partners Dan O’Hare and Eugene O’Reilly at Win Business Park. It later relocated to Greenbank Industrial Estate and merged with Dennison Commercials in 1993, before moving to our current Martins Lane site in 1998.
1985
Settling In: Our Current Site
By 1985, we moved to our current main site at Hillhead Road in Ballyclare, which remains our headquarters today.

1993
Coleraine Depot Opens its Doors
The depot opens at its current Loguestown Industrial Estate location, providing dedicated support to customers across the North West.
1996
Dungannon Depot Starts Operations
Dennison Commercials opens its Dungannon Depot at its current site, expanding its network to better serve customers across the region.
Dennison Bodyshop
Our Bodyshop, originally part of our Ballyclare depot, moved to Dennison Industrial Estates, Ballyclare, in July 2008. Equipped with five ovens, a dedicated shotblast bay, advanced alignment systems, and a skilled team, we deliver efficient, high-quality repairs, paintwork, and rebranding services.
2018
Dennisons Becomes Official JCB Dealer
Dennisons becomes an official JCB dealer, expanding the business into construction, industrial, and access equipment, plus generators, across Northern Ireland and Donegal.
2019
Coleraine Depot Gets a Makeover
Dennison Commercials opens its purpose-built Coleraine Depot at Loguestown Industrial Estate, providing a full range of Volvo Truck and Bus services. The ultra-modern facility features five service bays, specialist tooling, a customer reception and driver waiting area, a well-stocked parts department, and the latest energy-saving measures.
2023
Newry Depot Fully Upgraded
In 2022/23, a brand-new extension was added to the depot, providing a range of upgraded amenities. These include a new customer area, service and parts reception, storage facilities, a staff canteen, changing rooms, and a meeting room. The depot's strategic position alongside the main motorway ensures convenient access for customers from both the North and South regions.

Today
Today, we are proud to be one of the longest-serving Volvo franchises across the UK and Ireland, continuing to serve generations of customers while staying at the forefront of vehicle technology, safety, and performance.
